American President Donald Trump, while announcing the protests, on Wednesday night declared Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Trump announced this decision by press conference. He said that America will take its embassy from Tel Aviv to this holy city.
America has always been in favor of peace in the world and will continue to do so. We will not have any role in the border dispute. America has always considered Jerusalem as a holy place. In 1948, US President Harry Truman was the first world leader, who recognized Israel.
Trump’s decision opposed
Before this decision of Trump, exhibitions started in protest against the Arab countries. 10 Gulf countries, including Turkey, Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Iran, have warned America on this. China, Russia, Germany etc. countries said that this will increase the stress. Meanwhile, the US has advised its citizens to avoid going to Israel.
This is the reason for turmoil
Israel tells the whole of Jerusalem the capital, while the Palestinians call East Jerusalem their capital. This area was captured by Israel in 1967. Here Jews, Muslims and Christians have sacred sites of all three religions. At Temple Mount, where the holiest place of the Jews, Al-Aqsa mosque considers Muslims to be Pakistan.
Not an embassy of any country in Jerusalem
The UN and most of the countries of the world do not recognize Israel’s claim on entire Jerusalem. In 1948 Israel declared independence. There is no embassy of any country here. Embassy of 86 countries are in Tel Aviv.
What did India say?
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ravish Kumar said,
“India has an independent position on Palestine, its decision will be decided only by our interests and ideas, no third country can decide it.”
